Since the dawn of civilization, every year has had its own set of challenges. How you approach these challenges largely depends on the individual person and their makeup. As we are now 3 weeks into the 2024 year, it’s bound to have its fair share of challenges for me. As a result of that, the most frequent of the FAQs surfaces, that question being: What are my biggest challenges in 2024?

If you have followed my work on WordPress for any length of time, you probably already know what my specific challenges are for this year. But, just in case those of you don’t follow my work regularly or are new to my blog. Please allow me to go into detail as to what those specific challenges for 2024 are for me.

We start off with 2024 being my second full year as a regular blogger, and when I’m coming off 2,183 views and 1,116 visitors in 2023, those are some extremely lofty numbers to follow, match, or try to even exceed. Do I think I can match those numbers? I have no reason to think that I can’t do so, even when you factor in my hiatus for the first 2 weeks of this year. Could those 2 missed weeks come back to bite me? They very well could, or they might not even be that much of a factor.

That’s the mystery of it all; if I were a clairvoyant, then I could absolutely answer this question with confidence. However, I’m not, so I can’t do that. So with that in mind, I’m just going to continue the amount of work I have put in to get my blog to where it is now, and whatever the numbers are by December 31st of this year, are the numbers.

The next biggest challenge heading into 2024 is a challenge that I have discussed before. That is the challenge of blogging about the National Hockey League and Major League Baseball. If you go back to my essay on that topic, I wrote about why it’s so tough to write content on those 2 sports for me. The main reason why it’s so tough to produce content.

If I write a blog essay with standings and statistics, I have to make sure that the team or teams I’m writing about have time in between games. So, that means having to look at a team’s schedule and find spots where they have time off between games. That way, I don’t have to constantly worry about having to update the statistics and records of the teams before the publication date of that piece.

That’s where my new blogging cohort and friend, Sophia of Sophia’s Baseball Blog comes in. There are areas of the sport that she follows more closely than I do. Likewise, there are things about the game I know more than maybe she does. So, she’ll be able to be my eyes and ears on baseball. She’ll see and hear things that I don’t, and when we’re able to, we will combine our efforts to do collaborative essays about the game together. Now we have to find a way to communicate and work on them together, but I’m sure we can figure it out.

So that’s the blogging challenge of 2024. Now, what are some other challenges that I’ll encounter? Interactive opportunities at both work and Twitter role-playing. When I say interactive moments at work, I mean moments with people I’m good friends with as a result of my part-time job. Who will I see on any given day, and how will those interactions go? With X (formerly known as Twitter) role-playing, you’re ultimately making the most of the opportunities you have and not overthinking. Just have fun with it.

And lastly, the biggest challenge I have in 2024 is to just take things as they come. Don’t overreact, and just be me. Stick to what got me to where I am now, and don’t change it. So there we have it—all the challenges that I face in 2024. They may seem like the challenges that I have faced every year since I started working, but the challenges are what they are.

So, let the ventures of those challenges begin!
